ODIN LOST ONE EYE..

Christ himself told us, "When your two eyes become one, your body will be filled with light."

Odin is the Norse god of warfare, poetry and magic. He gave up an eye for all the knowledge in the world and hung on a tree like the antahkarana cross for nine days to learn the magic runes to manipulate the world, and fought a giant - energy blockage - for the Mead of Poetry so he could pass on his knowledge. He is the father of Thor.

The most celebrated Antahkarana rainbow bridge - a column of energy connecting Sahasrara Chakra with the chakras above the head - in Western mythology is called Bifrost, which connects Earth with Asgard, home of the Norse gods and one of the chakras above the head.

Bifrost can only be used by gods and those who are killed in battle. It is eventually shattered under the weight of war - the Ragnarok (German Gštterdammerung). The notion that the rainbow bridge to heaven is attainable by only the good or virtuous, such as warriors and royalty, is a theme repeated often in world myth.

Another theory, first coined by amateur etymologist Christopher Houmann, is that, in view of the common history of Indo-European peoples, the symbolic meaning of Asgard at the end of the rainbow might be connected to ancient knowledge of chakras and their colors.

NINE WORLDS OR CHAKRAS ABOVE THE HEAD IN THE YGGDRASIL ANTAHKARANA

Hilda Ellis Davidson comments that the existence of nine worlds or chakras above the Head around Yggdrasil is mentioned more than once in Old Norse sources, but the identity of the worlds or chakras above the Head is never stated outright, though it can be deduced from various sources.

Davidson comments that "no doubt the identity of the nine varied from time to time as the emphasis changed or new imagery arrived". Davidson says that it is unclear where the nine worlds or chakras above the Head are located in relation to the tree; they could either exist one above the other or perhaps be grouped around the tree, but there are references to worlds existing beneath the tree, while the gods are pictured as in the sky, a rainbow bridge (Bifröst) connecting the tree with other worlds or chakras above the Head.

Davidson notes parallels between Yggdrasil and shamanic lore in northern Eurasia:
[...] the conception of the tree rising through a number of worlds or chakras above the Head is found in northern Eurasia and forms part of the shamanic lore shared by many peoples of this region. This seems to be a very ancient conception, perhaps based on the Pole Star or central spiritual sun, the centre of the heavens, an the image of the central tree in Scandinavia may have been influenced by it [...]. Among Siberian shamans, a central tree may be used as a ladder to ascend the heavens [...].

Davidson says that the notion of an eagle atop a tree and the world serpent coiled around the roots of the tree has parallels in other cosmologies from Asia. She goes on to say that Norse cosmology may have been influenced by these Asiatic cosmologies from a northern location. Davidson adds, on the other hand, that it is attested that the Germanic peoples worshiped their deities in open forest clearings and that a sky god was particularly connected with the oak tree, and therefore "a central tree was a natural symbol for them also".

In the second stanza of the Poetic Edda poem Völuspá, the völva (a shamanic seeress) reciting the poem to the god Odin says that she remembers far back to "early times", being raised by jötnar (giants OR ENERGY BLOCKAGES OF THE EGO), recalls nine worlds and "nine wood-ogresses" (Old Norse nío ídiðiur), and when Yggdrasil was a seed ("glorious tree of good measure, under the ground"). In stanza 19, the völva says:

An ash I know there stands,
Yggdrasill is its name,
a tall tree, showered
with shining Light (loam - the Dust of the Golden Compass).
From there come the dews
that drop in the valleys.
It stands forever green over
Urðr's well (Kundalini Chakra in the center of the Earth).^[7]

Gjallarhorn (Old Norse "Calling horn") is the horn with which the gatekeeper god, Heimdallr, announces Ragnarök or Illumination. The event is attested primarily in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson. In the Prose Edda, and a single poem in the Poetic Edda, the event is referred to as Ragnarökr or Ragnarökkr or Illumination (Old Norse "Doom of the Gods"), a usage popularized by 19th century composer Richard Wagner with the title of the last of his Der Ring des Nibelungen operas, Götterdämmerung.^[6]

In Gylfaginning, Gjallarhorn is also the name of a drinking horn used by the god Mímir when he drinks from his namesake well. In the latter case, the name Gjallarhorn may mean "horn of the river Gjöll".Heimdallur (Old Norse Heimdallur, later Heimdallur) is one of the æsir (gods) in Norse mythology, in the Edda called the "white god" (hvítastr ása "whitest of the aesir Sæm 72ª; hvíta ás "white as" Sn. 104).

Heimdall (heim element to himinn "sky, heavens" and the þallr element to þöll (genitive þallar) "pine-tree) is the guardian of the Antahkarana Bifrost Bridge (i.e. the rainbow bridge), and thereby the link between chakras above the Head, Midgard and Asgard. Legends foretell that he will sound the Gjallarhorn, alerting the æsir to the onset of Ragnarök where the world ends and is reborn in Illumination. Heimdall was destined to be the last of the gods to perish at Ragnarök when he and Loki would slay one another as every thoughtform is wiped out in Enlightenment. This Battle is similar to that in the Bhagavad Gita which also ends in Illumination for Arjuna. Heimdall, as guardian, is described as being able to hear grass growing and single leaves falling, able to see to the end of the world, and so alert that he requires no sleep at all. Heimdall is described as a son of Odin, perhaps a foster son.

In stanza 20, the völva says that from the lake under the tree come three "maidens deep in knowledge" named Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld. The maidens "incised the slip of wood," "laid down laws" and "chose lives" for the children of mankind and the destinies (ørlǫg) of men. In stanza 27, the völva details that she is aware that "Heimdallr's hearing is couched beneath the bright-nurtured holy tree."^[9] In stanza 45, Yggdrasil receives a final mention in the poem. The völva describes, as a part of the onset of Ragnarök or Illumination, that Heimdallr blows Gjallarhorn, that Odin speaks with Mímir's head, and then:

Yggdrasill shivers,
the ash, as it stands.
The old tree groans,
and the giant slips free.

Odin sacrificing himself - he gave his life for others in Illumination - upon Yggdrasil (1895) by Lorenz Frølich.

In stanza 34 of the poem Hávamál, Odin describes how he once sacrificed himself to himself by hanging on a tree - like hanging on the antahkarana cross with the chakras above the head - which ends in higher Initiations of Illumination - symbolising the sacrifice of the Selfish Competitive Ego in Samadhi.
